BONHAMS AUCTION
Roger was asked again by Bonhams of London to make "10 special pieces" for exhibition/auction this September (2009).

 | 01. LARGE JAR
"leaping the falls".
Based on a group of salmon returning to their home grounds to mate. This jar is made in stoneware and measures 73cms. high. Thrown, modelled and painted with glazes and vitreous slips. Stamps and signature at the base. SOLD

 | 02. LIDDED JAR "lobster"
Depicting a lobster gently walking on the seabed. Relief work to the lid. Measures 24.5cms high. Stamps and signature at foot. SOLD

This pitcher made in stoneware depicts 2 seahorses forming the handle, with others swimming nearby. Measures 29cms high. Stamps and signature at base.SOLD

 | 04. TEAPOT "puffer fish"
A teapot to make you smile. It is based on an observation of a somewhat aggitated puffer fish. Made in stoneware.
Measuring 18.5cms.high.

"shoal of squid"
Large vessel depicting a shoal of squid hunting fish. Some modelling and cutting through the body to give a greater impression of depth. Glaze and slip painting.

Depicting fish during the observed activity of swimming round and around each other in open water. This was an opportunity to catch a real sense of movement and 3D, in a ceramic form. Stoneware. Measures 15.5cms high. Stamps and signature at base. SOLD

 | 08. 'PILGRIM' BOTTLE FORM
"turtle and fish"
A 'pilgrim- type' flattened bottle, depicting a Greenback turtle returned to a reef/cleaning station and attended by numerous reef fish. Measures 32cms high. Thrown and assembled. Pierced. Repeated on opposite face. SOLD

 | J's hospice bowl BOWL "school of dolphin"
At 33cms.diameter, this bowl, depicting a school of dolphin, emerging from the depths, is donated for auction so as to benefit the very much needed J'S HOSPICE charity - a charity providing respite and hospice care for young adults aged 18 - 40 - (www.thejshospice.co.uk).
